A unique member of the dogwood family. Cornelian-Cherry is one of the earliest small trees to bloom in the spring. Its yellow flowers and arching branches add excellent ornamental interest to your landscape. Grows in partial shade. Flowers last from one to three weeks, followed by edible red elongated fruits. Fruit is similar to a tart cherry and is suitable for jellies, preserves, and making wine. Cold-hardy. Ripens in late summer. Seedling. For proper pollination, plant two or more of the same variety. (Cornus mas)
