About the Loring Peach Tree

Introducing the Loring Peach Tree – a delightful addition to any orchard with a rich heritage dating back to its origin in 1946 at the State Fruit Experiment Station in Mountain Grove, MO. A hybrid of ‘Frank’ x ‘Halehaven’, this self-pollinating peach tree showcases beautiful pink blooms in spring, and with approximately 22 days before Redhaven, it ensures a bountiful harvest of medium-to-large peaches by mid-August.

Large, round, with yellow flesh, the fruit is renowned for its delectable sweetness, and is excellent for processing, fresh eating, canning, and preserves. Notably, Loring peaches are freestone, allowing for easy pit removal for your culinary creations.

How to Grow the Loring Peach Tree

Ideal for USDA Hardiness Zones 5-9, the Loring Peach Tree thrives in well-drained soil, requiring approximately 800 chill hours to yield its best results. Prune during the dormant season to maintain an open canopy, facilitating air circulation and sunlight penetration for healthier, more productive peach production.

The Loring Peach Tree is relatively resistant to pests and diseases; however, implementing regular monitoring and preventive measures, such as proper sanitation and organic pest control methods, will contribute to a thriving, pest-free orchard.

Its resilient nature makes it a fantastic addition to home orchards, providing both novice and seasoned gardeners with an abundance of juicy, freestone peaches each summer.
