Size & Spacing

Mature Size

When your plant matures, it will be approximately 12 - 24" tall x 12 - 24" wide.

Recommended Spacing

We recommend spacing these plants 2 - 3' apart to ensure room for growth.

Recommended Pollinators

This variety is self pollinating.

In many cases, you may still want to plant pollinating partners to increase the size of your crops, but with self-pollinating varieties doing so is optional. You'll get fruit with only one plant!

I wanted a second but smaller berry bush, hopefully an attractive plant, to put in container or ground near front door with sweet berries and nice fall color.

How quickly do they grow? How much sooner will the gallon produce fruit?
Darleen R on Feb 23, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Thank you for your question! Our Brazelerries will typically take 1-2 years to reach maturity and bear fruit. The small gallon container can reach maturity approximately one season sooner than the quart size container.
I live in zone 6, can I leave the jelly bean blueberry bush outside in the pot all year?
Chris G on Jun 9, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Since the zone range for this variety is 4-8, which includes zone 6, it can be grown outdoors year-round in your zone.
Do these do best grown in pots?
SuseyQ on May 7, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Their size is highly suitable for growing in containers, but you can certainly grow them in the ground if you prefer.
I purchased a jellybean and sunshine, do recommend growing them in the same planter or separate planters?
Ayana D on Apr 4, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Separate planters would be best for the plants. Sunshine Blue gets somewhat larger than Jelly Bean, so, unless they're planted at least 3 feet apart, there may be issues with crowding and shading.

Brazel Berries
They are putting out theirs 1st leaves now. Pots are the way to go if you need PH-7 in the Dallas Area. I strongly recommend a self watering pot or system. Because of their small size I am using this plant for a second floor balcony Garden. Hope to know more by next spring.
Had great luck with the raspberry from their line. It is getting transplanted this year into a larger pot. Will be making a great pot accent for the front drive up. Buy the way this is taking Morning and noon sun. Looking forward to trying more in the Line.
