Forest Pansy Redbud
This is a gorgeous redbud. Beautifulpink/purple blooms in early spring, then the maroon/red heart-shaped leaves come out making it a very distinctive focal point in the landscape. It is thriving in our southern clay soil.

looked like a joke but turned into a GEM!!!!
When it arrived I literally laughed out loud. Looked like a twig I thought it was a joke. But, after following the directions and watering the tree with our rain water barrel water consistently that little twig turned into a true beauty. It has grown so fast and actually people have asked us what type of tree it is because it looks so good. I just LOVE the red color in contrast to all the green plants in the landscape. A fine purchase!!! I would and will order more trees from Stark Bros. - JDC

Pretty Tree!
I'm glad Stark Brothers waited almost 2 years for a review of my forest pansy redbud. The tree is zero maintenance; I did not use any growing or rooting agents to start it, although I did make a huge hole of loosened clay, topsoil and gravel, because the soil where I live is almost solid orange clay and does not drain well. This pansy redbud is lovely in spring. When the leaves first unfurl they are a beautiful plum color with green veins, which is a very pretty contrast. When the sun shines through it, it's like I have an electric maroon tree! During the season, the leaves' plum color fades to green, but it still retains a slight maroon tint. I give it a 5/5 stars and recommend it.

Stunning specimen tree - incredible color
We were replacing a very old miniature plum a few years ago, and a close friend who is a landscaper in Boston suggested the Forest Pansy Redbud. When it arrived, I must admit, I was a little skeptical as to how well it would do, as it was a bit crooked. However, we planted it and used a combination of 6' stakes and rubber cord to create a bit of pressure that would help to guide and straighten its growth. We're now in the 3rd year and the trunk is straight and the blossoms this spring were stunning -- it's about 4-5 feet tall now and probably adding 6-12" in height per year. Only wish this comment section allowed me to add a picture or two, which would really provide the full story.

It's growing in nicely. It did not flower this year, hopefully next year will be better.

more of a "branch"
I'm "hopeful" we can train our Forest Pansy into a tree. It really is growing more like a branch - bent over, no crowning on the top - just all over!! Here's hoping!!
