We have montmorency and North Star cherry trees which produce small cherries. Will this work for smaller cherries?

BEST ANSWER: We have the deluxe and have used it on several different sizes of cherries . It work well on them all. Just don't get in a hurry.
will this handle the big black cherries. we bought one this year, not this one and it seems to not get every seed out. the big cherries seem to get stuck. we also used it on the yellow cherries and it also missed a lot of seeds. is there a trick to getting all the seeds out.?

BEST ANSWER: I've not used this for large cherries. Regular and smaller cherries will occasionally stay in the depression after the plunger retracts but if you pop the handle with enough vigor it seems to help with that problem. There are a few pits missed here and there - I always check my jams as their boiling to catch them as they float to the top - but this does a large volume of cherries in a shorter time than any other pitter I've tried so it's my go-to tool during picking season!
will that cherry pitter work on olives?
clay c on Mar 6, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Thank you for your inquiry. Because olives are typically smaller than cherries, the pitter most likely won't work on olives.

great product
Last year I bought this Cherry pitter. It works great. It will miss a few pits if you are processing large amounts and get a bit careless, but if you pay attention, your cherries will be perfect.

Handy gadget
Amazing! This is a very handy gadget. I love it. I pitted enough cherries to make a cobbler in just a few minutes. My family loved the cherry cobbler. And they thought I had worked for hours!! Ha, Ha.

Pitter Patter
While this Deluxe Cherry Pitter is a great time and effort saving tool,It is quite flimsy. It could be made sturdier with one simple design change ...Slot the pit catcher into the base as well as the tray, making it part of the over all support. This would stop the bending and twisting of the support arm, and make a more solid and lasting tool.
