About the Garden Delicious Genetic Dwarf Apple Tree

An easy-to-maintain dwarf apple tree for any growing space!

The Garden Delicious is a genetic dwarf apple tree that only reaches about 8-10 ft. in height. Developed by Floyd Zaiger, the Garden Delicious Genetic Dwarf apple tree can be planted in the ground or in a container. It’s the perfect size for a patio apple tree!

Lovely blooms make their appearance in April, followed by full-sized apples that ripen in September. Garden Delicious produces sweet, yellow-green apples that have a slight red blush. These apples store well and are wonderful for cooking, preserving, and baking.

How to Grow Garden Delicious Apples

The Garden Delicious is a very productive tree for its size and it starts producing at an early age. This apple tree performs well in hot climates and is also cold hardy. Plant in full sun with well-draining soil. The Garden Delicious is known to have resistance to apple scab.

For best results and for a larger crop, plant with a pollinator nearby. With a little maintenance, you’ll have homegrown apples to harvest from your own backyard!
