How to Plant Garlic

Garlic is one of the easiest and most versatile vegetables to grow! They are naturally hardy, fairly pest and disease resistant, and not too picky on growing locations. They will require loose soil and 6 hours of sun.

They should be planted about 1-2 inches deep, and 4 inches apart. Be sure to water them in well and the mulch or straw.

If you are planting in the fall, you might see some green popping up out of the ground before winter arrives - and that's ok! Be sure to water appropriately for your planting location, and harvest in late spring to early summer, or when the bottom leaves turn brown. Be sure to let them dry and cure for a few weeks before storing them in a cool, dry place.
