Description

The Chinese Apricot Tree is an early bearing, heavy producing variety that is recommended for difficult climates (especially those prone to late spring frosts). It blooms late and is also one of the earliest ripening fruits, making this tree ideal for more northern and high-elevation regions.

The fruit has a tender, yellow to light orange flesh that is full of flavor — Chinese Apricot fruit is of superb quality, and generally freestone, making it easy to use in canning, drying, or in baked goods.

Chinese Apricot fruit ripens in early July. This is a self-pollinating variety.

So far so good
Probably still too early for the review, until the tree survives its first winter. However, at this point it does well. A bit of an advise to buyers based on experience. Do not panic if your new tree does not wake up quickly. Tbe good size tree has arrived on time, well packed. After I planted it in my front yard, in about two weeeks I had concerns because nothing was happening. I even scratched bark as recommended on the web site. It proved to be still alive. 3 weeks after planting the leaf buds opened and started growing. Produced a bunch of leaves, new small branches popped up and the tree is going strong as of now, in . Will see how it survives the ND winter. Will mulch well and insulate the trunk.

Our Two New Apricot Trees
These 2 saplings arrived in such healthy shape. You have a good technique for shipping. They were A students from the start and are already over 6 feet tall! I have had family apricot orchards years ago so am looking forward to these two producing for us and the generations to come.

Great Service
I bought Chinese tree this year from Stark Brothers. It arrived in good shape and it was approximately 4 ft. The growth was astonishing which was 4 feet in one year. I am hoping next year the total height will be 12 feet.

So pleased!
I purchased this tree and another about 2- 2.5 months ago. Shipping was a little slow, but package arrived in good shape And well packed. Both trees were of a nice size, between three and half and four feet tall, not including roots. This apricot is off To an excellent start! It was bare root when it arrived, has totally leafed out, and is branching like crazy. I am extremely pleased with my purchase. I have purchased trees from stark brothers before and would do so again!

Tree arrived in great shape and since planting in the early Spring (2024) has had fast development and growth. Have purchased many bare root trees from Stark's and they have all done excellent. This tree though, seems to be growing with rocket fuel . Think I can taste those apricots already.

Chinese apricot
This tree has grown 2.5 feet so far and keeps putting out new leaves. It arrived a little early to plant here in SW Montana zone 5b, so I stuck it in some soil in the greenhouse and it immediately started sprouting leaves. I planted on the north side of the house so that it will hopefully flower a little later in the spring. So far, I'm super happy!
