Why did you choose this?

Love taters.

Because it said in the description that they are sweet. That’s what I want, a “sweet” sweet potato. I guess we’ll see in the fall if they are “sweet”.

Well known variety in these here parts. General Beauregard was a general of the Confederacy.

Wanted to try

can the sweet potatoes be sold in smaller lots? I can't afford the 25-item package. Thank you

I wish! Not all have a large garden.

Can you plant these in large containers?

Absolutely! If you like, you can "plant" a tall trellis to one side of the container and let the vine wind up around it. It's really beautiful.

Is this the kind that lays down roots along the vines? What kind would that be?
How far do you plant these apart?

We recommend planting these 3-4' apart.

are these slips? or whole potatoes?

More like slips or a bear root plant. If you can't plant them right away put them in a vase of water

Is the pilling eaten?

I’m not sure what you’re talking about “pilling”. I had a good crop even in the poor dirt I used in my grow bags!

when you sas 25 pack is this plants?

It is a pkg of live plants. Some may look a bit whimpey and not too lively, but we have planted them all and have good results. Beauregard are the only variety we plant because they grow so well and taste so good. They need sunshine and regular moisture.

How do they Grow in Grow Bags ?

Grow bags that range from 20 gallons on up to 100 gallons work well. If you want to get a big harvest, grow several sweet potato slips and opt for the largest grow bag you can fill with good quality soil, to 12-18 inches deep.

Can these be grown in buckets like regular potatoes?

Yes it can be grown in a bucket.

What type of yield do you estimate from this many plants if maintained correctly?

A single plant will produce, at a minimum, three or four pounds of potatoes,

Very easy and productive
Huge yield of massive sweet potatoes. So easy to grow! No fertilizer, no pests, no watering. Just plant and keep weeds out. This was my first time growing sweet potatoes and I was shocked! The size and numbers were amazing.

We like the Beauregard variety very much. They grow well for us though some years a bit better. The taste is great! They need plenty of sunshine and regular water. They spread allot and you have to be sure to search for the tuber throughout the whole plot. Critters like their green tops so depending on your garden location you may have to give protection.

Great yields - patience to get them started
These did great here in Western NY. I am at a higher elevation than most so the ground doesn't reach the right temperature until early June. They started slow, and went through a drought (I did water a few times a week) but once they took root and we got a few good rains these produced awesome yields. We harvested last week of September. Will be buying again if we cannot get slips out of last years harvest.
