Growing the Mt. Fuji Flowering Cherry Tree

Known for its umbrella-like appearance, this small upright tree boasts spreading horizontal branches and smooth reddish-brown bark, providing winter interest. Its deeply serrated, pale green leaves gradually unfold with bronze tinges, reaching lengths of up to 7 inches. Flowering from late March to April before leaf emergence, the blossoms start as pink buds and mature into fragrant, semi-double white flowers.

Thriving best in full sun with well-drained soils, the Mount Fuji Cherry is hardy from zones 5 to 8, adaptable to most soil types. Regular pruning, good air circulation, and adequate sun exposure are essential for preventing common plant problems.

Considered a front yard showstopper, this deer-resistant tree attracts pollinators such as butterflies and hummingbirds with its luxuriant white blossoms. Its resistance to heat, humidity, and pollution makes it an ideal choice for various landscapes, from cottage gardens to borders and Asian-inspired garden designs.

So far, so good
Sapling is doing well, so far. A very small sprig tried to pop out at the graft joint really early on, which was worrisome, but I cut it off. If it blossoms next year, I'll try to remember to update this review (maybe with another pic).

Great addition..
They were small than I expected, but had very healthy root systems. I ordered them in late February and they arrived in early March, perfectly packed with no damage. I planted them immediately, mulched the surface and kept them well watered. They have amazed me, they have each put on 12"or more of new growth, and are still growing, it's now mid June and I'm very pleased with my purchase,, Starks products also come with high quality trees, I have many. Thanks!

Great Specimen from StarkBros!
Tree was as advertised. Came in a box, tree was wrapped inside a plastic with damp shredded paper around the roots --definitely was prepped with care; no damage nor dead branches, great specimen to say the least. If only StarkBros offered seedlings instead, those would've been great bonsai material foe my case. Overall, am happy with this purchase. Thanks StarkBros!

Cute little tree, hope to see it flourish!
When they say bareroot, they really mean it! We were shocked when we opened the box and the roots were exposed- despite this, the tree did not suffer in transit (as far as we have noticed). Good looking little tree, we're excited to get it in the ground this spring and see how it grows. Will come back and update in a year or so, but definitely happy for now!

Didn't live after a week!
I planted this tree with amended soil (clay breaker) as soon as it arrived in the Spring. Watered it after I did the finger test in the soil. It's dead! I lightly scratched the bark - it's brown.
I was looking forward to this tree blooming but I'm very disappointed. Not sure I will buy from this company again.
