Why did you choose this?

I purchased a bulk order of trees. After reading other people's comments, I decided to order two bags, if they work well I will order more.

Because my Tree from last year died.

Have used before and works great for establishing new trees

Consistent watering new trees

Can this be used to water established trees? What is the maximum trunk diameter for these?

Yes they can be used for established fruit trees. The single bag fits trees up to 3" caliper and holds 20 gallons.

Does this water bag only water the main tap root or does it go out to the spreading roots at the tree/drip line?

It will water the tap root area for sure but depending on the tree/drip line I have not used on mature trees only newly planted ones for the first 2 years. Hope this helps

How do you fill the bag?

There is an easy fill opening on the bag that you will fill with a watering hose.

How fast is the delivery system? How much water in a day is released?

Depending on the soil type and weather conditions, this bag will slowly drip irrigate your tree for up to 10 hours.

Can one use the 15 gallon bag on a 1" new planted tree?

yesm **Single bag fits trees up to 3" caliper and holds 15 gallons
**Can attach 2 bags for trees 3-5" caliper and holds 30 gallons

Does this work with the 17" tree water saver? I live in SE Florida BIG SUN and HEAT. I water early am or late evening. The trees i need something for are in the ground. Or is this in place of the water saver ring? We dry out in literally 1-2 hours in the non rainy season.  Thank you 😊

Hi, I’m not sure I understand your question but as a fellow customer I’ll try. I don’t use this with any other watering device. It disperses water slowly over about 30 hours. The tree is then watered very deep and that should suffice even in hot sun for a couple days. You’d probably have to fill it 2x a week for a newly planted tree to establish. It works great here (NY state)

Would this work for container trees?  Would this work in Arizona type heat (greater than 110°f)?  I don't want to scald my trees.

No. They retain too much heat and the water is gone in a couple of hours. I live in the high desert in ne oregon and have had no success with them, whatsoever. The plastic is flimsy and the weeds easily tear them when hot. They don't allow the roots to breathe. All of my trees died.

Helps establish newly planted trees
Works well, waters deeply over 20-30 hours. I would fill it 2x a week to establish a new tree.

Best of the best
These are excellent. I tried them and the "original" Tree gator and I think these seem to be a higher quality, easier to fill, and a more manageable height. I have not tried them past the first season. It makes my weekly watering so much easier that hooking up the deep water stake, and I get less runoff.

Great Bags
These bags are great. They are sturdy, have strong zippers, and for larger trees can be expanded by zipping the bags together. It helps me a great deal with watering as I fill up the bag and the water drips to the right area and the right rate. I also believe it helps protect the truck from pests and deer. When fertilizing, I just put the fertilizer with the water in the bag.

Too big for smaller trees.
A bit big for small trees. Also didn’t realize that all of the water dripped out within an hour. Anticipated the water would slowly drip out within a few days.

Have put away till trees are bigger and switched to smaller on the ground water bag.
