I have two drooping Hawthornes that I planted last year but this year, the weight of the blooms is no match for my original stake system. What do you recommend for a tall, slender heavily flowered tree with an average truck width of about 1.5-2"? Thanks.

Hi Wendy,
I did not use the DeWitt Tree Stake Kits because the trees I purchased them for were destroyed by deer before I could use them. However, the trees you describe sound ideal for this system. They are similar in size to what I had before I lost them.

Is there any option for metal stakes?  We have extremely rocky soil and afraid plastic stakes will just break.

We do not have any metal tree stakes available for purchase. These tree stakes are made of sturdy fiberglass.

How long are the stakes?

They are 15 inches.

Should I use this on a very tiny blue spruce?

I would definitely use them on a small spruce but it sounds like you'll have to prune branches for the straps to fit.

Really liked this kit. Will order again for the next round of young trees.
Very easy to set up, and allows the tree enough movement to strengthen the roots. I would definitely purchase these again for the next young trees we plant.

Gave the tree a good start
I was glad to have the kit. It was working great until the landscaper's tractor hit the one line. the tree survived but I had to modify the one side. Great and easy to use.

It seems like it will work.
The product is good but the pictured instructions are so tiny as to be useless. I had to go online and look at the pictures there to get a sense of how to set it up.

DeWitt tree stake kit
I would recommend this product to people who have a windy site that they are dealing with. It works well at keeping the tree supported and balanced. You really need two people to get it set correctly.
