Questions & Answers
You can work it into the soil (at least half way down) for more shallow-rooted plants/shrubs. Deeper for more deeper-rooted plants/trees.
Yes, it has a locking system that keeps the ring together and keeps water from escaping. It can be closed and opened again after removal for storage and using again.
I wouldn't consider this product a deterrent for pests like voles, which are tunnelers by nature. They might prefer plants and trees that are not surrounded by slight obstacles like this product, but they'll probably just go under it if they really want to get to the fruit trees' roots.
It won't be a perfect circle, but yes.
These will last 10 plus years.
We offer two varieties of climbing rose, the yellow Smiley face and the red Winners circle. Both have a great fragrance.
Greenwells can be left in place all year round unlike water bags. They hold mulch which helps insulate the root ball as winter sets in. The will not affect the root ball as they should only be buried 2-3 inches into the ground. I recommend the larger Greenwell (26"inch or 13 gallon) for fruit trees. Remove after 2-3 years once the tree is established
I found that the water saver can be dug in on one side to adjust for a slope and helps keep the water over the roots, but doesn't "hold" it. The water penetrates our soil fairly quickly.
it came in 3 sections that hook together.
yes easy to disassemble.
Greenwells are used by Municipal councils for this very reason. When installed correctly (bottom third buried into the earth) they are very strong due to being round and the pressure of the earth compressing down on the angled side of the product. They will withstand a good deal of abuse from a weedwacker.
