Description
Named after the famous Wabash Cannonball. One of the best-flavored pawpaws, this round “cannonball” fruit is very fleshy, sweet and rich with a low seed-to-fruit ratio. Exquisite texture is medium-firm, creamy and smooth – eat it with a spoon, just like custard. Pretty sunset-colored yellow-orange hue. Wabash fruits are typically 8-12 ounces each, and there will be many of them! Judged by the University of Kentucky horticulturists as having excellent fruit quality and quantity, noting that it is one of their favorites. Tolerant of afternoon shade. Ripens in October. Grafted. For proper pollination, plant another grafted variety nearby.
