my pear orchard is really looking healthy,it has stark trees and that's the reason for success...

It perfectly fit my needs as a small land owner and the variety of trees was a perfect match for replacement of trees destroyed by a flood a while back. Also a great match for our needs for growing…

I needed dwarf pear trees because I am limited on space. I plan to espalier my trees. This package deal is great for pear trees that need cross pollination. It's an added bonus that they are fire…

We bought a New Century pear tree from you 3 or 4 years ago. The tree is healthy and the pears are big and beautiful, but hard as rocks. Don't seem to ripen on or off the tree. They stay hard and I'm not sure what to do with them?

Most pears are different from other fruits, you need to pick them before they ripen while they’re still hard and yellow-green. Wait until they start to turn yellow and perhaps a few drop off the tree, then harvest. They should then part from the branch easily. Place in a room at 60-70°F to ripen. Check the pears frequently, as they can take anywhere from a few days to more than a week to ripen.

how long before trees start bearing fruit?

Each tree in this collection takes 4-6 years to bear fruit.

Perfect collection
I raise produce to sell at our local farmers market and the market store, And noticed that there's not a lot of fruit to choose from. Sure there's lots of apples in the fall. So I decided to start an orchard. My brother has the land that used to be a a somewhat very large garden.. so far I have 4 peach, 4 pear, 3 plum and 1 Asian persimmon trees. Now to keep the deer from thinking there's a new buffet in town.

All Doing Great!
I received my trees exactly when they said I'd get them. At first, I was skeptical, they were all dormant and all the pear trees I'd seen at garden centers were producing pears already and leafed out. Of course, these were not bare-root trees and I was unfamiliar as to what to expect as this was my first time ordering trees like this. Within days of planting them in the ground, leaves began to unfurl! They look like they're doing great and all seem to be waking up just fine! Can't wait to see how they grow and how they do next year when they've had time to establish.

the orchard
I planted this collection in the orchard and all three trees took off like a rocket , stark really does have great trees, our local stores and nurseries all sell bigger trees ,some a little cheaper but my grandparents always planted stark trees and now I am old and I plant them , stark trees will outperform every other tree I plant everytime, buy a stark tree and take good care of it I bet you'll agree...

Second year in their new home
The three trees look great. One was replaced last summer, as it died off early on. Replacement is doing great. Battle during their first year here, as the Japanese beetles tried to hit them hard. They wintered well, and have nice new growth. Appear to be very healthy at this time.

all 3 trees are doing well, one has pears on it this year. the other 2 were smaller when I received them so that is mot likely why they didn't blossom this year. looking forward to getting pears on all 3 of the trees next year. will but from stark's again

Dwarf tree 10 feet tall
The trees are growing great. I bought the dwarf variety thinking they may be easier to care for since I'm a novice. I planted the trees 3 years ago and 2 of the 3 trees are over 10 feet tall and that's after pruning. They haven't bore fruit yet so I think the trees will likely outgrow their dwarf status. It doesn't matter for my situation because I have plenty of room for them to grow but it could have been a problem for others with small yards.

60th Birthday Gift for my Dad
My father is a green thumb so when his 60th birthday came around (November 2015), my brother and I decided that a trio of pear trees would be the perfect gift. The trees were set to come in the weekend before this birthday, but there were significant delays in the delivery, which I was told was due to the availability of strong saplings. After a few more delays, the trees were finally delivered the following March of 2016. Despite the wait, my dad was thrilled and immediately planted them. One of the three never took and eventually died, which was disappointing. Overall, this was a great idea, and he loves the two trees that survived, but I would be aware of the potential for delays when placing orders in the future.

Bareroot Pears
I am really hoping that these all take. The one I really want is the candy pear. It has the biggest trunk but is putting out stunted leafs. The others look like they might grow.
All I can say at this time is starks stands behind its product. So take a chance and order the trees through them. :)
