Simka Plum Tree
Description
Skip the frost worries with this late-blooming Japanese variety. The tree has a lovely spreading habit, and a low chill-hour requirement of just 500-600 hours. Very showy flowers make it a landscape specimen. You’ll love the pretty heart-shaped fruit for its contrasting deep purple skin, golden flesh and delightful sweetness. A splendid, large fresh-eating plum that retains its firmness even when ripe. Makes wonderful jam/preserves, too. Freestone. Ripens in August. Self-pollinating, but will produce more fruit with an Elephant Heart plum nearby.
