Purple Passion Asparagus Plant
Description
The Purple Passion Asparagus will bring color to your garden!
This perennial vegetable is sweet and mild, with 20% more natural sugar. Purple or burgundy asparagus has sweeter stalks than green asparagus! These vitamin-rich spears are so tender, you can eat them right out of your garden.
You’ll love the unique, nutty flavor. The stalks of purple asparagus turn green when cooked. Purple Passion Asparagus is cold hardy and heat-tolerant.

Received 60 roots and 59 came up. They are thriving in a special bed I made with the addition of several inches of sheep compost mixed into the garden bed soil.

Highly recommended!!
It's thriving and putting out over pencil size spears for its first set. Each set probably had 6-10 spears. Only 1 out of the 10 did not grow.

Very satisfied
Patience has finally paid off in my 5a garden! I planted these bare root plants in a small raised bed three years ago, and patiently waited for the plants to establish before finally enjoying a small harvest this spring. The stalks were delicious and tender. I left many to mature, which have grown into a dense patch of foliage. A wonderful bonus was that in early summer the plants were absolutely COVERED in ladybugs and larvae, which I observed spreading through the rest garden and munching on aphids! I also noticed that I have both male and female stalks, and the plants are now bearing tons of red berries, which I will save and replant.
