I live in zone 9B. Can you recommend a good pollinator pear for the Golden Russet Bosc Pear that thrives in zone 9B as well?
Sami G. on Mar 12, 2021
BEST ANSWER: We currently do not have anything that will thrive and bear fruit on a 9b sue to the amount of shill hours needed to bear fruit. I Suggest reaching out to your counties extension office to see what locally will thrive and pollinate and if any one has had any luck growing and producing pears. The local extension office in your area has specific growing information tailored to that zone.
This pear is compatible to my area zone 9 but the only pear recommended for cross pollination is not compatible for my area. Would two of the same pear tree work?
Montea B on Mar 8, 2020
BEST ANSWER: No, two of the same pear tree is the same as one bigger tree. They are genetically identical, you need pollen from a different variety.
