Description

The Purple Passion Asparagus will bring color to your garden!

This perennial vegetable is sweet and mild, with 20% more natural sugar. Purple or burgundy asparagus has sweeter stalks than green asparagus! These vitamin-rich spears are so tender, you can eat them right out of your garden.

You’ll love the unique, nutty flavor. The stalks of purple asparagus turn green when cooked. Purple Passion Asparagus is cold hardy and heat-tolerant.

Super sweet, juicy, delicious asparagus!
Well worth the wait to harvest. Purple Passion Asparagus is incredibly flavorful, eager to grow, and just plain wonderful to eat. So nutritious! The kids absolutely love it, too, so I now have multiple beds, purchased over the past few years to try to keep up with our eager eaters. The only downside is that we can't harvest it all year round, but such is the nature of life. We enjoy it tremendously during the harvest season, and happily watch the fronds grow taller than us when that season ends, as we await next spring. Earlier plantings failed, but Stark Bros was wonderful about replacing them, and that's one of many reasons we keep coming back. Stark Bros rocks, and the Purple Passion Asparagus is the best!

Good growth in hot weather
The roots arrived 6 weeks late, but in good shape. Despite the weather having warmed up a lot, the 12 roots I planted all came up strong and continue to do well two months later.
