I planted two lavender plants this spring. One may not survive. I am intrigued by the white lavender, may plant it in a pot and put my moon garden.

will it naturally spread or will it contain itself to 36x36?

More than likley contain its self.

Can I plant this variety in a large pot and leave on my porch all winter? I am in zone 7B

Growing lavender in pots lets you enjoy this ultra-fragrant herb wherever you have a sunny spot. So even if you don't have room for a field of lavender in your landscape, you can tuck in a few containers of lavender (Lavandula spp.) in small, sunny spots like a south-facing entryway, patio, or balcony.

Is it better to plant in the fall?

We appreciate you reaching out to us. Because weather and soil conditions vary so much from year to year and even within your zone, it's best to think of your planting time as a range of favorable conditions instead of an exact time.

You can plant new plants and trees:
1) when the ground is not frozen.
2) when daytime temperatures are above freezing (32ºF) and below 90ºF.
3) when extreme weather (blizzard, hail, torrential rain, etc.) is not in the forecast. Be sure to keep plants watered if you're transplanting in warm and/or dry weather.

If you have any further questions please don't hesitate to reach back out to us. Have a great day!

When does this variety bloom? If cut back, will it rebloom?

Blooms mid summer- early fall. Though usually avoided, cutting lavender into the old wood can be a good way to renovate them. The trick is to make sure you can still see some signs of life in the form of growth nodes below the cutting point. If you cut beyond this, the stems are unlikely to recover, so examine them closely.

Is this exceptional lavender lavender elegance ice?

No It is not.

How big does it get?

They can reach up to 36 inches tall and wide.
