Tuscan Blue Certified Organic Rosemary
Description
About Tuscan Blue Rosemary
Embrace the culinary and ornamental allure of Rosmarinus officinalis or ‘Tuscan Blue Rosemary’, a versatile herb that adds both fragrance and flavor to your garden. This evergreen shrub quickly forms an upright hedge adorned with aromatic, needle-like foliage and charming clear blue flowers. Ideal for cooking, the leaves infuse dishes with a pungent, pine-like aroma, while the flowers attract beneficial pollinators. Thriving in full sun and well-drained soil, this low-maintenance herb is perfect for borders, containers, or as a natural screen in waterwise gardens.
How to Grow Tuscan Blue Rosemary
Cultivating Tuscan Blue Rosemary is effortless, rewarding you with abundant foliage and blooms throughout the seasons. Plant in loose, well-drained, neutral to slightly acidic soil, providing deep watering during the first growing season to establish a robust root system. Once established, reduce watering frequency, allowing the soil to dry out between waterings. Fertilize lightly in spring to promote healthy growth and prune as needed to maintain the desired shape. With its moderate growth rate and upright habit, this herb thrives as a fragrant hedge, foundation plant, or culinary delight in any garden.

Questions & Answers
It has grown a lot, and I have trimmed it a couple times throughout this summer. It is approx. 24 inches and has bushed out to 24-36 inches in width. Hardy plant.
I just want something better than weeds growing.
You can grow it as a hedge. You need to have mild winters. I live in Tacoma, WA and it grows very well. There are mild winters with a few sub freezing nights/days. Here it is seen in short hedges-3 to 5 feet. I have seen it flourishing also in Marfa, TX where there also are a few sub freezing nights.
I live next to a conservation area, so deer are always nearby. They haven't bothered rosemary.
Yes you can use window boxes for planting.
Yes, you can grow Tuscan Blue Rosemary indoors, including the certified organic variety! Rosemary, including the Tuscan Blue variety, adapts well to indoor conditions as long as it receives the right care. Here are some tips for success:
Light: Rosemary needs plenty of sunlight, ideally 6-8 hours per day. Place it in the sunniest window you have (south-facing is best), or supplement with a grow light if natural light is limited.
Temperature: Keep your indoor rosemary in a room that stays between 60-75°F (16-24°C). Avoid placing it near drafty windows or heat sources, as it prefers stable temperatures.
Watering: Rosemary prefers to stay on the drier side. Allow the top inch of soil to dry out between waterings, but don’t let the plant dry out completely. Overwatering can lead to root rot, so be cautious.
Humidity: Indoor air can be quite dry, especially during winter. Rosemary enjoys a bit more humidity, so you might want to mist the plant occasionally or place it near a humidifier.
Soil: Use a well-draining potting mix to prevent water from pooling at the roots. Adding some sand or perlite can help improve drainage.
Pot size: Make sure to use a pot with good drainage holes. Rosemary has a small root system, so a medium-sized pot should be sufficient.
With proper care, your Tuscan Blue Rosemary should thrive indoors!
