Graceful and symmetrical. Tree features an attractively dense, rounded form adding beauty to the landscape. Deep-pink buds open to vibrant-pink single blooms that attract bees and other beneficials in spring. Green foliage has a slight reddish tint. Small red fruit forms after the flowers fade, providing a source of food for wildlife. Cold-hardy. Disease-resistant to fire blight and cedar apple rust. Matures to be 20-25' tall and wide.

BEST ANSWER: While all crabapples are edible, fruit of many ornamental crabapples (like this one) are not palatable without first cooking and sweetening the fruit. If you're looking for a truly edible crabapple, Whitney is a superior choice. It's also beautiful in the spring.
