Description
Help bats help you! Gardeners who battle insect pests find value in these native, nocturnal flying mammals. Bats are insectivores, opportunistically feeding on insect populations including moths, beetles, wasps, and mosquitoes. Our bat house provides an ample environment for up to 100 bats for use in both suburban and rural areas. The design’s flat back allows for easy hanging on outdoor surfaces. For attracting and protecting bat populations, we suggest hanging bat houses on a pole, approximately 15-feet up with a south/south-east exposure. Hang bat houses away from trees, but near water if possible. Materials used: bat-friendly exterior-grade cedar wood painted with water-based ink. Bats, hanging hardware, and pole not included. Made in USA.
- Dimensions: 15.5" x 7.5" x 6.5" tail to tip. 4.5" extended backboard landing area below entrance. 3 bottom-open compartments, each with approximate 1" x 5" entrance to accommodate bats.
