Questions & Answers
I live in South Carolina where there's lots of clay. My vines are planted in a mixture of garden soil/compost. I use Starks Tree Pep. The vines are doing fabulous!
I plant all my vines 3 feet away, but they didn’t survive over the winter…
I didn’t even know they can be males or females🙂
I have grapes on trellises and each plant use a 6' section of trellis.
My trellis are flat with a post on each side of a wire panel.
Muscadines will require a minimum 20 ft of trellis per plant. Therefore, measure the area where you will plant the vines. That way, you will know how many plants to purchase. If you plan to have more than one row, space the rows 12 ft apart.
Thank you for your question. The age and size information for our grapes is as follows: 4” pot: 6-12 months old and 4” tall bare root: 1 year old and 12-18” tall. Our grapes will typically take 2-3 years after planting to reach maturity and bear fruit.
We raise our trees and plants as organically as we can. We do spray when necessary - primarily with biological/organic agents - to keep pests and diseases at bay in order to save a threatened crop, but you may raise the tree or plant as organically as you wish. Stark Bro’s does not knowingly grow or offer genetically engineered plants or trees (GMOs).
There are restrictions in placed because the U.S. Department of Agriculture, Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service, Plant Protection and Quarantine Program (USDA APHIS PPQ) and the plant health agencies in each of the 50 states, regulate the shipment of nursery and greenhouse stock in an effort to minimize the spread of harmful insects, diseases, and other pests.
We appreciate you reaching out to us. We are deeply sorry that we do not have grapes for your zone. Upon offering you the discount, we did not know the specifics of what you were planning on purchasing but this discount is good for any purchase on our site.
