Wanted to try a variety to see what kind of growth we get with each plant and then ultimately update the garden bed with the ones that appear to do the best.

How do the strawberry Plants arrive? Roots or plants? If I purchase the strawberry collection with 36 plants, how big of an area do I need?
Brenda E on Sep 9, 2018
BEST ANSWER: They arrive in 4" pots. Each plant needs 1 square foot of space, which you can arrange any way you like.
Can these be shipped in March 2019? That is the best time to plant in Eastern Kentucky.

BEST ANSWER: Because weather and soil conditions vary so much from year to year and even within your zone, it's best to think of your planting time as a range of favorable conditions instead of an exact time.

You can plant new plants and trees: 1) when the ground is not frozen, 2) when daytime temperatures are above freezing (32??F) and below 90??F, and 3) when extreme weather (blizzard, hail, torrential rain, etc.) is not in the forecast. Be sure to keep plants watered if you're transplanting in warm and/or dry weather.
Is it ok to plant the strawberries that come in 4" pots in early October in Zone 5? Will they have enough time to get established before winter? Thanks!
