I use these for not only for strawberries, but also to keep the onions/shallots, and asparagus safe from getting mown over and in a raised protected bed. On the top tier of each I put a ground cover berry; so it doesn't have to compete with the grass. I put american cranberry on the top of one, and Lingonberry on the top of the other one. They are very useful; although it takes a lot of potting soil to fill them.

BEST ANSWER: One cubic yard will do the trick.
Just purchased a strawberry pyramid planter 3 tier. How much soil is required to fill pyramid and what type of mixture should I use?

BEST ANSWER: It requires 1 cubic foot of soil. You can use any good potting soil and our special Strawberry Food, which is very slightly acidic and has all of the micronutrients that strawberry plants needs to perform really well. strawberry pyramid
This is really a stretch to call it a "planter". It is nothing but a cheap metal edging. In trying to put it up, the flimsy thing just didn't look very good, so we gave up and planted the strawberries in a home made wood-edged bed instead. It was a giant waste of money.

The best tasting strawberry ever!
I planted this assortment last season and now I have the sweetest tasting strawberries my family has ever tasted. All of my plants made it through my northern Michigan winter, are gorgeous green and loaded with berries! The tower was easy to assemble and is perfect for keeping my strawberries in one area of my garden. I would recommend this to anyone wanting to grow strawberries that are tasty with a limited amount of space.

This was a gift for my son in Maine. I asked how the berries were doing and he said that 17 of them had come up, which is good. Hopefully they will last the winter up there and give them yummy berries next year!

Our Pyramid Planter
The Pyramid Planter Assortment was shipped quickly and we were able to set it up and get the plants in the ground faster than I expected. I like the watering feature in the middle, however, I would like it to maybe be a drip irrigation system in a coil of some sort instead of the spray over the top. The plants are all blooming and we just picked our first strawberry of the year this morning.

We like it!
Played last year, and got about 4 quarts of berries this year. The edging is a little soft, but if your not a maniac and take care while mowing and such, it’s fine. I dig the sprinkler in the middle, makes life easier. If you take your time putting the the system together it all works together very well.
