When does the Starkrimson red delicious bloom?
Melinda W on Apr 19, 2017
BEST ANSWER: This is a mid-season blooming apple variety.
How Disease resistant is this red delicious variety?
Jeanette L on Oct 31, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Any fruit tree can be susceptible to disease, depending upon the weather conditions and how it's cared for (or not cared for). An apple tree that has some resistance to mildew may suffer severe mildew damage if the temperature is 90?? with very high humidity and low winds every day for a long stretch.

While it's not possible to specifically say how much resistance a given tree has to a given disease, under average conditions, Starkrimson?? Red Delicious does have some resistance to mildew and fireblight, and is very resistant to cedar apple rust.
i have chosen Dwarf Fuji, Honeycrisp and Pink Lady apples to grow. Will a Red Delicious work for a cross pollinator for all?
Daniel W on Mar 2, 2020
Will they produce apples within a year?
Susan B on Sep 11, 2019
BEST ANSWER: Generally it will take 3-4 years before there is any measurable fruit from the tree provided the tree is well kept and properly fertilized and maintained.
How old is the tree ?
Kevin G on Feb 14, 2021
BEST ANSWER: When shipped, regular trees are about 3-4' tall and/or with a 3/8" or larger trunk diameter. A Stark?? Supreme Tree is one of the season's top-grade, bare-root trees that gives you a head start on growing. When Supreme trees are shipped, they are about 4-5' tall and/or with a 5/8" or larger trunk diameter. All of our trees are 2 years of age.
does gold rush apple pollinate with starkrimson red delicious apple?
Rose P on Jan 2, 2021
BEST ANSWER: These two varieties will not pollinate as the Red delicious is a Mid season bloomer and the Gold Rush is a Late season bloomer. I recommend using the Jonafree, Red Fuji or Enterprise for pollination of your Gold Rush.

Solid Apple Tree Investment
I purchased these trees 2 years ago to try in my orchard. They took right off and had heavy blossoms both years. And now have several nice apples on each tree. I live in central WI, so surviving the winter was of utmost importance. So far so good. Just a few days ago we had an all day wind of 30 - 40 mph and the trees are very hardy and withstood the wind and did not lose apples.

Big delicious apples.
I planted this tree about 15 years ago. The first year we had a heavy snow and the rabbits ate up the trunk. It continued to grow very slowly but I never thought I would have more than a deformed ornamental for the birds to nest in. Then one day, about 10 years later, I cleaned out the chicken coup and put the cleaning around the tree. The tree took off and I had a bumper crop! I have done this every year since and continue to get a tasty bounty of apples.

The Red Delicious Tree arrived in very good shape, was straight, was strong enough to make it through the winter, and continues to grow.

Fantastic experience with Stark Bros
I admit that at the time that I am writing this, my trees are babies. They've only just been planted today. I'll come back in a couple of years after they've had a chance to produce to comment on the apples. What I CAN comment on is how great my experience has been with Stark Bros. They don't make you feel like simply a customer. You feel as though you've joined a gardening club of sorts. It's my first time planting fruit trees, so I had a couple of questions. I called, got right through, and talked to someone who treated me like an old neighbor or friend. The trees came perfectly, well maintained and pruned by the nursery. You can tell that they care about their plants and want to give you a quality tree to continue that legacy. I will be ordering many more plants and trees from Stark Bros. Next up: Peach trees!

Very disappointed. The tree got 4 leaves in over a year since I planted it. It didn't grow at all. It looks sick and stunted.
