Cedar Rust Resistant and I love Red Delicious apples off the tree, not waxed and from cold storage.
Dorothy N on Mar 13, 2017
This has always been my favorite apple. In junior high school in the early 70s, every morning I'd buy an apple out of machine for a dime, and it was a Red Delicious apple. Since I don't have an apple machine, I decided to get the tree.
Elsie B on Mar 11, 2017
More disease resistant, best producer, better flavor, than most of the apples listed. I (especially) have a fireblight problem here. Over many years, Red Delicious has outperformed many, if not all of the various apple varieties I've tried.

It can pollinate my Winecrisp apple tree and replace my crabapple tree Spring Snow for a more dwarf apple tree in the backyard. Good all-around disease resistance with some susceptibility to scab. The taste is very familiar to the store bought ones as well.

When does the Starkrimson red delicious bloom?
Melinda W on Apr 19, 2017
BEST ANSWER: This is a mid-season blooming apple variety.
How Disease resistant is this red delicious variety?
Jeanette L on Oct 31, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Any fruit tree can be susceptible to disease, depending upon the weather conditions and how it's cared for (or not cared for). An apple tree that has some resistance to mildew may suffer severe mildew damage if the temperature is 90?? with very high humidity and low winds every day for a long stretch.

While it's not possible to specifically say how much resistance a given tree has to a given disease, under average conditions, Starkrimson?? Red Delicious does have some resistance to mildew and fireblight, and is very resistant to cedar apple rust.
Will they produce apples within a year?
Susan B on Sep 11, 2019
BEST ANSWER: Generally it will take 3-4 years before there is any measurable fruit from the tree provided the tree is well kept and properly fertilized and maintained.
What are the chill hours for red delicious apple tree?
Chip H on Aug 28, 2018
BEST ANSWER: About 700-800.

Solid Apple Tree Investment
I purchased these trees 2 years ago to try in my orchard. They took right off and had heavy blossoms both years. And now have several nice apples on each tree. I live in central WI, so surviving the winter was of utmost importance. So far so good. Just a few days ago we had an all day wind of 30 - 40 mph and the trees are very hardy and withstood the wind and did not lose apples.

love our red delicious trees from the best fruit tree ever
last years purchases are the healthiest trees in the orchard. We have been so delighted with a previous purchase of the Red delicious tree and when it was struck with lightening, we were devastated. There is no words to tell you how happy we are with the replacement trees

Fantastic experience with Stark Bros
I admit that at the time that I am writing this, my trees are babies. They've only just been planted today. I'll come back in a couple of years after they've had a chance to produce to comment on the apples. What I CAN comment on is how great my experience has been with Stark Bros. They don't make you feel like simply a customer. You feel as though you've joined a gardening club of sorts. It's my first time planting fruit trees, so I had a couple of questions. I called, got right through, and talked to someone who treated me like an old neighbor or friend. The trees came perfectly, well maintained and pruned by the nursery. You can tell that they care about their plants and want to give you a quality tree to continue that legacy. I will be ordering many more plants and trees from Stark Bros. Next up: Peach trees!

Big delicious apples.
I planted this tree about 15 years ago. The first year we had a heavy snow and the rabbits ate up the trunk. It continued to grow very slowly but I never thought I would have more than a deformed ornamental for the birds to nest in. Then one day, about 10 years later, I cleaned out the chicken coup and put the cleaning around the tree. The tree took off and I had a bumper crop! I have done this every year since and continue to get a tasty bounty of apples.

Didn't grow.
Very disappointed. The tree got 4 leaves in over a year since I planted it. It didn't grow at all. It looks sick and stunted.
