Description
Originally from Tuscany, the Maurino Olive tree is an attractive and productive plant.
Highly regarded for its bounty of olives that are ideal for oil production, there’s space for this unique tree in any garden, no matter the size!
Planted in the ground, Maurino Olive Trees grow to about 25 to 30 feet in height, but when planted in a container, they can remain 12-15 ft in height with some pruning. You can grow olive trees in containers in cooler climates – just be sure to move them indoors before freezing temperatures arrive.
These ornate trees not only spruce up your patio’s style but can also serve as a nice windbreaker and privacy fence. Especially when you plant a few.
Expect white flowers in the spring and gray-green foliage year-round. The medium-sized fruit ripens in early fall. When ripe the Maurino olives are purplish-black and have a sweet, aromatic flavor.
This tree does need a pollinator to produce fruit. Moraiolo, Pendolino, Leccino, and Frantoio olives are excellent pollinators for commercial production. For backyard growers, the Coratina and Arbequina are also compatible pollinating partners for the Maurino Olive.

I live near Death Valley, CA. Olives do well in 124F heat during the intense summertime.
