Description

Snappy, tangy taste. Produces excellent-quality fruit with a slightly higher acid content than other Asian pears. Tree is moderately vigorous with a slightly spreading nature. Fruit is sweet like a pear and crisp like an apple with lots of juice. Medium to large size fruit has an attractive golden-russet skin. Best for fresh-eating but also makes great pies! Introduced from Japan in the 1970s. Heat-tolerant. Ripens in late August. Self-pollinating, but will yield larger crops when pollinated with another variety like New Century. Pay more for the EZ plant-it's worth it
We planted our tree a couple days after arrival and it is flourishing with new growth. I am hopeful that it will start producing in a couple of years. It's doing really well!

excellent service and product
Tree arrived safely and well contained for transport. it is a healthy tree which I potted and kept inside until the danger of frost passed. it is now showing new growth after being planted outside. staff were very helpful with choosing the correct variety of pear for pollinating my existing tree. they provided prompt responses and shared their knowledge and expertise. I highly recommend stark brothers nursery.

delicious pears
