A native wetland plant that makes a big statement. A dwarf form of Joe Pye Weed, with deeply lavender-colored blooms that grow tightly — almost like miniature lilacs or kalanchoe flowers. Quite fragrant, and stunning in a cut-flower arrangement. “Little Joe” prefers morning sun and afternoon shade or part-shade and has no preference amongst sand, clay or loamy soil; it will grow anywhere, including containers. Deer stay away, but the plant draws butterflies like a magnet. A wonderful addition to the garden for mid- late-summer bloom. Mature size: 24-30” tall x 18-24” wide. May be covered by USPP #16,122 or other patents.
