New Product!

A native wetland plant that makes a big statement. A dwarf form of Joe Pye Weed, with deeply lavender-colored blooms that grow tightly — almost like miniature lilacs or kalanchoe flowers. Quite fragrant, and stunning in a cut-flower arrangement. “Little Joe” prefers morning sun and afternoon shade or part-shade and has no preference amongst sand, clay or loamy soil; it will grow anywhere, including containers. Deer stay away, but the plant draws butterflies like a magnet. A wonderful addition to the garden for mid- late-summer bloom. Mature size: 24-30” tall x 18-24” wide. May be covered by USPP #16,122 or other patents.

when is the blooming time and how long does it last?
cheryl w on Dec 11, 2018
BEST ANSWER: The blooming time will depend upon your zip code, but in most areas it blooms in late-July/August. The flowers will last about two weeks; if the weather is cooler where you are, they'll last a bit longer.
Hi! How does it do in wet soil?
Heather C on Jul 5, 2019
BEST ANSWER: Precious few plants do well in "wet" soil, but this plant will do well even in clay soil that doesn't drain well. If you have truly wet soil that remains so, you may want to plant some elderberries.
Is Joe Pye Weed a perennial?
Joe Pye on May 8, 2019
BEST ANSWER: Yes, it is a long-lived perennial that will come back every year for decades with proper care.
Water requirements?
C W on Apr 26, 2019

Apparent false advertisement and customer service failure
I ordered a pair of "Little Joe's" from Stark Bros only to get plants from another nursery that were labeled as full size Joe Pye's and repackaged by Stark Bros. When I asked a question about it on the forum, they not only failed to answer my question but when I checked back a week later, my question had been deleted. Buyer beware. I guess we'll see if this review mysteriously disappears as well.
