German White Extra Hardy Garlic Bulbs
Description
Garlic is one of the easiest crops to grow! Also known as Music Garlic, the German White Extra Hardy is an exceptional hardneck type that is prized for pungent, gourmet garlic flavor.
Home Chefs will appreciate the easy-to-peel, consistently sized, large bulbs, filled with rich and spicy flavor. While garlic is used widely as a flavoring in cooking, it is also known to have many health benefits. The German White Extra Hardy Hardneck Garlic is particularly high in allicin, especially when cloves are freshly crushed.
This is a porcelain type of garlic plant, with ivory outer paper and purple-streaked inner wrapping around each clove. Porcelain varieties are known to store well. The German White will store easily for 6 months or more if handled properly after harvest. These cold hardy plants can withstand very cold winters, as well as wet, warm winters—better than many other varieties.
It is recommended to plant garlic in the fall and by mid-summer, you will be delighted with a nice harvest. This easy-to-grow crop averages 4-7 large cloves per bulb. The delicious scapes, which are the tender stems of the plant, can be harvested in late spring. These can also be used in an assortment of recipes.
A half-pound set of garlic contains approximately 3-4 bulbs. Each bulb contains several cloves for planting. Actual quantity may vary depending on bulb size.
