We ship this tree to you in a small nursery gallon pot. It will need transplanted at some point or the roots will be constricted.
I do not know. I have bushes planted with exposure to mid day and western setting sun. They did not flower after one year. Hope to see some flowers this year. Bushes seem to be very slowly growing.
There is no guarantee that either will become established faster than the other. The bare root is shipped completely dormant and can be planted immediately upon arrival. It will wake up as the spring season warms up. The potted version is greenhouse grown in the container and might have already broken dormancy. Its important to acclimate the potted plants before planting so there is less shock in transplanting.

Depending on where you live, and the lilac varieties you choose, lilacs can provide color and fragrance from April through June. By selecting carefully, it is possible to have two months of spring blooms, particularly if the weather is cool.

I transplanted them into large containers and they started new growth within a few days. Out of the 4 lilacs I ordered, they grew between 1-3 feet from the original size. They haven't flowered yet but that will probably happen next year.
We were unaware of the location at the time and it started to die.
I just recently found out about lilacs because of my neighbor’s bush, can’t wait to add this to my bee garden!
For privacy to keep are honeybees out of public view. Hopefully the bee's will enjoy then also.
wanted a white lilac, heard that yours was the best.
The white lilac is rarely seen in my area of Ohio although my grandfather had purple and white lilacs when I was growing up.
