How do you prevent potatoe beetles from destroying the crop?
J M on Mar 26, 2021
BEST ANSWER: Kaolin clay can form a natural barrier against insects and a repellent option. Available commercially under such names as Surround WP, a thorough coating over your plants of this material can help keep the potato bugs from munching on your leaves or laying their eggs. Another option is diatomaceous earth
How long will How long will seed potatoes keep before planting? How long will asparagus roots keep before planting?
Rick M on Mar 23, 2021
BEST ANSWER: The approximate maximum duration you can keep them as seed before they break dormancy is 200 days but will depend on what variety you ordered and you might be able to extend that for a few weeks without affecting viability using seed inhibitors.
If planting is delayed on your bareroots, store crowns at 40?? F and 85%-90% humidity. Do not let free water accumulate on them, but it is important not to let them dry out. I would plant within 10 days from receipt.
