Lonnie in tn

This is an ornamental plum, meaning it's grown for its beauty in the landscape. It does not bear fruit.

I have small trees growing on the ground from the roots to the circumference of the tree itself how do you control it?

There is a great little product called Sucker Punch, which kills the "little" trees that sprout up near the original tree. Please use according to the package directions. //www.starkbros.com/products/tools-and-supplies/tools-and-equipment/bonide-sucker-punch
