Even impatient gardeners will be satisfied; very young trees fill to the brim with flowers. Trees grow to 15 to 25 feet with a spread of about 10 feet. My white dogwood tree died years ago and it is time to replace it.

I had ordered white dogwoods in early Spring, recieved my trees I ordered 4. But when they flowered they had a cluster of small white flowers, and not the 4 pettal, yellow center flowers ot was supose to have. The trees are pretty but they ars not what i thought I ordered...what kind of Dogwoods are they? Because they are not normal dogwoods. I payed the price for 4 dogwood trees and theses surely are not

Mine is still alive, but did not flower at all this spring. I'm not sure why, I thought it was odd that there was no flowering, because it's almost five foot tall. ???

How far apart would you plant the white dogwood tree from the red bud tree?

The redbud can grow to 35' wide; the dogwood 10-12' wide. Dogwoods are great under-canopy trees, so it depends upon how close you want them to be. A minimum distance from trunk to trunk would be 15' if you want the redbud to overhang the dogwood (beautiful!!). If you want them to be separate and distinct (next to each other), you would plant them a minimum of 20' apart.

I am thinking about including a white dogwood in my front landscaping. What is the minimum distance that the three could be planted from the house? Sewer lines are not an issue because they are on the opposite side of the house from where the tree might be planted.

These should be planted a minimum of 15' away from the house; 20' or more would be better.

Does this tree need a second tree for pollination?

No it is flowering tree and doe snot produce fruit. Only one tree is needed for blooms.

I'm concerned about dogwood diseases. Can someone talk about resistance to disease in dogwoods please?

Dogwoods are forest understory trees that grow best in partially shady sites with regular moisture and an annual application of organic matter such as leaf compost. Disease-resistant cultivars are available and reduce the chances of problems such as powdery mildew and spot anthracnose. However the variety we offer I do not believe shows any signs of resistance.

How old are the trees when shipped?

Stark brother trees are 2 years of age at shipping.

is this the old fashion tree with brown edges on petals?

I bought this tree with the idea in mind that is just what you have questioned, however, this is the 2nd season for this tree and it hasn't bloomed yet.

Can I put in a pot?

You can grow almost anything in a container! This excellent article will answer your questions and provide good advice. Please see "Growing Fruit Trees in Containers" //www.starkbros.com/growing-guide/article/fruit-trees-in-containers-pt1

Why is this prohibited in my area 34251?

This item is prohibited from shipping to your location because the U.S. Department of Agriculture, Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service, Plant Protection and Quarantine Program (USDA APHIS PPQ) and the plant health agencies in each of the 50 states, regulate the shipment of nursery and greenhouse stock in an effort to minimize the spread of harmful insects, diseases, and other pests.

Will this grow in full sun?

Dogwoods can be planted in full sun or partial shade, though partial shade is best (morning sun in particular). Dogwoods are typically an understory tree in the wild.

Super healthy young dogwood, growing in a place that dogwoods don't normally grow.
We bought this dogwood back in May and it's thriving, despite that this is not dogwood country. In fact, I'd say there are no dogwood trees within 500 miles, maybe more. Easy to plant.

Dogwood
The tree looks great so far. I planted adjacent to the mimosa tree in my front yard. Once they grow a few more yards tall I should have a beautiful, shady front yard.

My purchase was for a memorial tee for my son in law who passed this March. My mother suggested the memorial and my daughter picked out the type of tree. I was really pleased with the swiftness of the delivery. It is looking well and blooming nicely. Thank you so much.

Always happy when a tree returns for year two in a strange place :) Still short, but has new growth, and leafed out nicely.
