About the Autumn Gold Ginkgo Tree

The Autumn Gold Ginkgo (Ginkgo biloba ‘Autumn Gold’), also known as the Maidenhair Tree, is celebrated for its unique fan-shaped green foliage that turns a brilliant golden yellow in the fall. This deciduous tree adds exceptional beauty and a sense of history to any landscape. Once thought extinct and rediscovered in China, the Ginkgo has graced the earth for millions of years, making it a fascinating addition to your garden.

Ginkgo trees are known for their lush, vibrant green foliage in the spring and summer, which transitions to a luminous golden yellow in the fall. Exceptionally hardy, the Autumn Gold Ginkgo tolerates a range of soil conditions, drought, urban pollution, and even salty soils. Its deep root system ensures it remains highly resistant to wind and snow damage, providing longevity and stability—as well as being a great variety for planting along the street or sidewalk.

How to Grow Autumn Gold Ginkgo Trees

To grow the Autumn Gold Ginkgo, plant it in full sun and ensure it receives regular watering, especially during dry periods. It adapts well to various soil types and requires minimal maintenance once established. Prized for its foliage rather than blooms, ginkgo trees feature a balanced, symmetrical shape that enhances any landscape. The tree’s moderate growth rate allows it to reach a mature height of 40-50 feet and a spread of 25-30 feet, making it an impressive and substantial addition to any garden.

Plant the Autumn Gold Ginkgo for a durable, beautiful, and stately tree. Its stunning fall color, resilience, and ease of care make it a perfect choice for both urban and rural settings, ensuring it remains a cherished part of your landscape for generations to come.

Love these trees
I received the trees in the fall which was a perfect time for planting. Shipment and ordering were quick and efficient. The trees arrived in perfect condition and the roots were moist and viable. The leaves were beautiful. and not damaged at all by the packaging or shipment. We were so excited to plant 6 gingkoes of two different varieties spaced around our property. We gave them all the room that is required for a full-size tree. We won't be around when they are full grown, but we can't wait to see what they look like in 10 years!

Quick Delivery and Easy Planting
Our 4' Autumn Gold Ginko tree was shipped in late September. It was well packaged and arrived alive and undamaged. Planting was easy following the included instructions. The tree was supported with a bamboo stake, and we added additional staking to wind-proof it as well as the rodent guard. The tree is now dormant, and I am optimistic to see it leaf out in the spring. Our son like the tree so much that he ordered one also.

Anticipation
Gave it 4 stars because this tree came with about the top 12 inches broken off. I hope it lives through the winter, I planted in the beginning of October. Looking forward to spring to see if the tree survives.
