Babylonian Weeping Willow Tree
Description
If you’ve got a little open space the Babylon Weeping Willow Tree is the perfect addition to bring elegance to your landscape.
Willow trees are medium to large deciduous that grow quickly to provide shade and privacy. This majestic ornamental tree boasts delicate hanging branches that sway with the wind. The long hanging tendrils grow beautiful light green leaves that turn yellow-gold color in the fall.
The Babylon Weeping Willow grows best in moist soil. In fact, their roots can soak up sitting water in swampy parts of your yard, making it usable again. In addition, many choose to plant this tree to prevent soil erosion.
This tree is considered easy to grow and is cold-hardy and even heat-tolerant. Just be sure to plant in space where roots can spread – Do not plant near any underground power lines or sewers, since weeping willows have exceptionally long roots.

Questions & Answers
It can grow up to 8' per year, especially if it's planted near a water source (pond, stream, etc.). Willows like "wet feet."
This is one of those trees that is really not suitable for a raised bed. Its root system is large and sprawling. It really needs to be planted in a low area or near a pond, river or stream.
Yes!
It is not a hardwood tree, but by nature, the branches sway in the wind and are meant to withstand a certain amount of windspeed.
This tree will love the "wet feet". It would help to do two things: Dig a very large planting hole (at least 3' wide and deep) and amend it with coco-fiber planting medium. Then plant the tree about 4 inches ABOVE the soil line and mound the soil up to the top of the roots, so that it looks like the tree is planted on a small hill. The coco will help aerate the clay until the roots are old enough/strong enough to penetrate it on their own, and mounding the tree will keep it from "suffocating" in the heavy soil when it's young. Gorgeous tree, you're lucky to have the space for it.
The Babylonian Weeping Willow is a fast growing tree.
