Assuming you're spraying fruit trees/plants, it's 3 fluid ounces of concentrate per 1 gallon of water. It will vary depending on what you're spraying, but all of the information is included on the product label.
The label for this product includes application instructions for edibles – from vegetables to fruits, large and small (in addition to inedible ornamental/flowering plants and trees). It also includes instructions on how many days before harvest the last application should be made, so you'll know to use it safely.
Karen I have been using sevin bug killer as directed and have not had any problems with the lack of bees. I do not use it when the fruit trees are in bloom only after the bloom is done. Hope this helps.
Gnats don't eat plants, but any common insecticide will kill them
I used seven on a variety of trees lncluding the pear trees. As far as not getting it on you. Be aware of the wind direction, keep the wind at your back and always wear goggles. Also, rubber boots and gloves wouldn't hurt. Good luck.
I'm not sure about the Sevin. If you can spray directly on them, insecticidal
soap will do the job without being long lasting, and more environmentally friendly, as it needs to directly contact the insect to work.
