Hi John, Herbs is not listed on the label so I am not sure if it can be used or not. The label list instructions for shrubs, flowers, shade and fruit trees and vegetables.
YES, a couple of teaspoons per plant. Mix with the soil.
No, Hi-Yield Triple Super Phosphate (0-45-0) is not organic.
Hello JiHong. The instructions are correct and it will not hurt your trees due to the slow release of the phosphates. However if you want to cut the amount in half I am sure you will still see an improvement in your trees.
I do not use this product to increase acidity of the soul. Triple phosphate is used to attempt to get more blooms. Manure/compost decreases soil pH as does aluminum sulphate. There are also non chemical ways (in addition to manure) to drop your soil pH. If you have an agricultural extension office in your county, they not only test pH but can also make recommendations for how much of what products to use!
Hi Barbara, This is a really good question. I assume that you could add some of this product to your lawn to improve your phosphorus levels but the label does not have any direction for this.
Yes, it will probably raise the pH of the soil if it is a lower level. Typically if you have a higher pH, it will not affect it much but it does increase lower pH levels.
Bone Meal is going to be a higher & faster Phosphorus availability than Rock Phosphate will. If you need faster results, the bone meal will be an advantage, but don't forget that the microbes are what unlock the phosphorus for your trees in the long term and the rock phosphate will be a good addition to the soil mix too. . . slow & steady always wins the race
