Description
Controls sprouts and suckers on a variety of established woody plants and trees. Just a simple application of this water-based paraffin emulsion knocks out root sprouts and sucker growth from pruning cuts on trees like apples, olives, pears, non-bearing citrus and other woody ornamentals. Ready-to-use, no measuring or mixing required. Each treatment inhibits growth of sprouts and suckers for a full six months. Brush included. Note: Do not apply to trees less than one year old.
Questions & Answers
Yes, this can be used on Crepe myrtles.
It worked pretty good on some fruit trees and grape vines I had. The grape vines were particularly annoying because they wanted to spend sprouts out right at ground level. I pruned them back as far as I could to the main vine and then generously applied the sucker punch. I'd say it was about 80% effective which I thought was satisfactory. On the grapes I did only one application because I feared harming the vine. I don't think that would have been an issue. I did two applications on the trees and that was pretty effective.
Sucker Punch is a plant growth regulator that inhibits sprouting from roots and pruning cuts. To work effectively, you need to prune the tree or plant properly.
This is for suckers on trees, not for insects or pests.
