Description

Quarter-size berries! This variety is big and bountiful — the largest early-season blueberry. The fruit has an outstanding flavor fresh, baked, and in preserves. Freezes well too! Tolerates moisture, including clay type soils. As a landscape bonus, the plant features snowy blossoms in early summer and stunning orange leaves in fall. Introduced in 1976. Disease-resistant to root rot. Cold-hardy. Ripens in June. Self-pollinating, but will yield larger crops if you plant two or more.

A great purchase
The plant arrived in good condition. It started growing shortly after planting it. I would recommend purchasing the blueberry in a pot.

Pratriot Blueberry 2nd season
Patriot Blueberry. Zone 8b. 2nd summer planted in ground. Fertilize with 5-5-5 and applied a soil acidifier spring and fall. They look amazing. Did not prune this year. I had a few blueberries last year and they taste amazing. So I ordered 2 more plants.

Productive and handsome plants
These are excellent and bear well. Have growing in big grow bags with amended soil. Fertilize twice a year. Bore abundantly. Too large now to tote into the carriage house to winter over so placed a wire mesh cage around each plant and stuffed the cage with straw. We get crazy winters with strong winds but they look fine so far. Wanted to protect the roots since they aren't planted in the ground. Expecting a great harvest.

Patriot Blueberry Bush is a Big Berry.
The Patriot Blueberry Bush is my favorite. But since planting the Pink Lemonade Bush, I may change my mind. Patriot berries ate always big and sweet. Lemonade are sweet and pink.

A beautiful start to a potful of blueberries!
I love my Patriot Blueberry plant, it arrived very healthy and did nothing but grow healthier all season. Now with this company's good advice and suggestions, I can only hope it survives Iowa's crazy winter and continues to thrive in the spring!
