The two plants arrived well packaged and healthy. I planted them in large containers on my back deck. Both are doing well, unfazed by recent freezes and snow. I look forward to eating berries if not this year, the next.

Love my Blueberry, even had a few berries this year
Love my blueberry from Stark Bros. It looked a little sad when I first received it but once it was planted it came on strong. I wish I had taken pictures a few weeks back, it was absolutely beautiful. At this time, it is back to looking sad as we have had a few weeks of below normal temps and snow. Although the branches have no leaves, I can tell it is still healthy and strong. Can't wait for late spring when it begins to wake from its long winter nap. I will make sure and get some photos in the spring.

Excited to try this variety!
We are excited to try this variety and have confidence in Stark Bro's plants (have planted Stark Bro's fruit trees and berries since 1982). It is too early to properly review this variety (planted Spring 2022), but will be glad to re-review in two or three years when we get a crop. Our experience: We were sent a very small plant which took well over a month to come out of dormancy. We were concerned at first when it didn't leaf out quickly, so we called Stark Bro's Customer Service who advised doing a "scratch test" (passed), then advised us to have patience. It finally came out and is doing well now, so their advice was good. BTW, we have 12 total varieties of highbush blueberries in our backyard here in Ogden, Utah, growing since 2003. We had heard "you can't grow blueberries in Utah" but have since proven otherwise. Since our native clay-based soil tested pH=8.3, we needed total soil replacement. So we created a 30' x 4' x 16" deep "sunken grow-box" (lined with 4-mil PE black plastic, made sure to have some bottom drainage and provided a slightly raised rim to avoid intermixing with surrounding native soil) and filled it with a homogeneous balanced mix of locally-purchased neutral topsoil, soil pep, peat moss, sulfur, FTE, 16-16-8, 21-0-0, Miracid and "Waterhold". Planted 12 plants (12 different varieties). We water simply with local "secondary" water (no added acid). Monitoring pH yearly, adding granular "agricultural" sulfur to the soil each Spring only as needed to maintain pH. Moderate fertilizer yearly to avoid leaf burn. This project was expensive at first, but is simple and inexpensive to maintain. The plants grew like gangbusters, with shoots several feet high per year! Pruned yearly per extension service recommendations. Our blueberries have won county and state fair first place ribbons and other prizes. We have shared our home-grown fruit and berries with co-workers, family, friends and neighbors and are helping some enthusiastic neighbors start their own blueberry planting. This year we decided to replace a few of our bushes to try new varieties and are very excited to see how they turn out!

Vigorously growing Rubel blueberry plant.
Bought 4" potted plant for growth zone 7A in Pennsylvania. Planted in Fall 2021 and added 1-2" mulch. I fertilized plant with one tablespoonful of Starks Blueberry fertilizer in April and June 2022. Plant now (July 2022) is at least 5X larger than at planting and very healthy looking despite nearly month-long drought. Hoping to get some fruit in 2023.
