Why did you choose this?

cute little ornamental plant!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It was recommended by Mike From The Fit Farmer YouTube. Ordered two plants this past spring and one was eaten/chewed off and left laying on the ground. The other survivor now has a rabbit/critter…

wanted a smaller plant

Planting in a greenhouse with limited space.

Are there larger sizes available besides the 4"?

My Top Hat's have grown well. I have them a flower bed & one is about 28" tall, while the other is only about 20". They have bloomed a couple times & I expect to see eatable berries this coming year. Hope this helps, we are in central texas about 2 1/2 hr.

My fiance absolutely loves a blueberries so I would like to find a good blueberry bush and I have absolutely no idea where to start which one should I buy? I will be keeping it in a pot unless it needs to go in the ground

I purchased 4 Top Hat blueberry plants 2 years ago and planted them in a raised bed. They produced quite a few berries last season and are looking fantastic this season. The berries are delicious. Good luck with your plants.

Can grow in greenhouse?

Yes you can grow blueberries in a green house but they will still need the minimum chill hours required in order to bear fruit.

The 4" Potted Item #146767 isto produce fruit please? Thank you physically what size of plant and how long to be able

We appreciate you reaching out to us. You can find the years-to-bear information in the Characteristics section, near the top of the page, underneath the description. If you have any further questions please don't hesitate to reach back out to us. Have a great day!

Can they grow in a pot?

Yes they grow in pots and it is easier to control the Ph.

Can I plant in planters and will I get fruit this year?

We planted ours in a 20 inch diameter x 18 inch tall pot. Don't expect any fruit the first year. The main goal is for it to put on lots of branches and leaves.

Use the Stark Bros fertilizer and acidifier as directed (a 20 inch pot is almost 1/4 of a square yard or up to 2 ounces of sulfur). It helps to start with potting mix that is already at the right ph. I check the ph every week (I keep a spreadsheet) and I add 1 tablespoon of sulfur if the ph is above 5.5 and I skip it when it gets below 5.

In the winter, I put the pots on our patio against the house, surround them with seat cushions from our patio furniture and cover them with blankets when the temp gets below 20F. They don't need much water, but don't let them dry out.

The second year you'll get flowers and berries, but not a lot because you only have 1 years growth. Some say pick the flowers off, but I let mine ripen. So far, our birds haven't learned they are good to eat.

How big are the plants that are sent?  How large are they?

Hello Tim, The 4" pot ships out at 4-6" tall

what other varieties can you plant with Top Hat to give better berry production?  Is there a list of blueberry cross pollinators?

We appreciate you reaching out to us. Blueberries are self pollinating and do not require another variety to bear fruit. However planting a second variety of any kind will increase your crop yield.

If you have any further questions please don't hesitate to reach back out to us. Have a great day!

After planting how long does it take to harvest ?

1 year to bear fruit.

Does this come as a bare root plant?

It is not available as a barefoot plant.

Anticipation!
Planted 5 blueberry plants in mid September 2023.. The plants arrived very healthy. Their fall leaf color was gorgeous. It's late December now and the leaves are just now falling off and the plants are going dormant. Looking forward to fresh blueberries in 2024.

Love these bushes!
Planted 2 in containers 3 years ago and have had nothing but successful harvests for 2 years. Handfuls of daily berries. The only problem is the birds and squirrels. Netting has saved me! Love these bushes!!

We received the blueberry plant about a 1.5 month later than promised, which was disappointing and knocked the stars down. Otherwise, the plant was delivered in good condition and is currently growing pretty well so far in the 1st year of planting.

Top Hat Blueberry - a bit of a disappointment
Bought two Top Hat plants hoping cross pollination would increase my harvest. They arrived as sticks with a few leaves. I planted them in different containers on a sunny patio and added some acidifier to the soil, fertilized and watered. One bush leafed out and a few blooms appeared. I have a few small sized blueberries on that plant, though not nearly as large or as many as expected. Berries are too small to bother picking. The other bush leafed out, but never bloomed, so no berries at all. While I am happy that the bushes survived, I am disappointed in the performance. Will overwinter them in my garage, bring out next Spring and see what happens . I'm hoping that they perform better.

The two plants did not do well at all. They died in just a few weeks. I'm so disappointed.
