pH is very high in Denver, and I want to grow berries! I hope this will help me determine which soil amendments are working to lower pH.

Handy but limited
Unfortunately the Analyzer does not measure the individual levels of Nitrogen, Phosphorus, and Potash, it just provides an overall indication of fertility. It basically measures three things: Acidity (whether or not you need to add lime), overall Fertility, and Soil Temperature (whether soil is warm enough for seed germination). The paperwork shows the requirements of a long list of different types of plants. It would be nice to know the requirements of the Nitrogen, Phosphorus and Potash so that one would know just what fertilizer one should buy and apply.

Soil
Tester gives accurate measurements. I only wish the three soil nutrients were listed separately. Also would be nice to have a chart to advise what type fertilizer to use.

helped to save my 180 baby (2 years old) trees of Thuja Green Gaint
Fair price and really easy to use. Good not only for the garden, but for everything growing in your yard. Two seasons ago I've planed 180 8" Thuja Green Gaint trees. This season I've notice that they kind of stop growing and some of them got looks really stressful. I've tried many things, but nothing worked. Few trees turned to yellow-brown... When I checked the pH of the soil with this tester I've got the answer: the pH of my soil where were sitting dying trees were only 5,1(!) when it suppose to be at least 5,5 (even this is too bad). Urgently got the lime and fixed the problem. I had to wait only couple days with good rain and even my dying trees turned back to very bright green!
