Stark Bro's Store
I wanted grapes, this has been an incredible buy. Nice grapes the second year as these grow on second year wood. The St. Therese are vigorous! The others are slow and growing, but I couldn't imagine having to keep up with the quantity and growth rate if all four took off like crazy. Great buy!

I am looking for snacking (edible) grapes to plant in the spring - I do not want wine grapes. Would this collection work?
LEILA M on Sep 17, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Yes, this would be a great choice. Canadice Seedless, Himrod Seedless, Reliance Seedless, and Saint Theresa are not wine grapes and are each superior eating grapes.
I'd like to plant some grapes that are good for table eating as well as for making raisins. Would these work well or should I try a different variety?

I purchased all three plants two seasons ago. One plant died shortly there after and the other two lived and still live. I should note that you replaced the plant immediately with no questions. I was very impressed by that. The other two started to get good growth at the beginning of last season then seemed to stop mid season. If they are still living this season then I will try more fertilizer and soil amendments to improve the growth. I will have a better sense of the plants growth and quality at the end of this season. I do have wild grapes that grow wonderfully so I thought these would do well in the same general area, but haven't yet. Will know more in a few months.

Our Most Wanted Grape Vine Collection
I realy liked the plants when they came planted them they grew real good , last fall I had no idea rabbits liked them to . When I checked them out in february the babbits had eaten them off to the ground . You really didn't have to replace them but you did thank you .New plants are doing fine but I do have cages around them.

Canadice, Reliance, Interlaken Seedless Grape Collection
Interlaken and Reliance performed better than expected. Several grape clusters on these vines the second year. Canadice was a great disappointment. The vines and leaves the root produced are about 20% the size of those on the Interlaken and Reliance with no sign of clusters It looks like a pigmy next to the other two vines. Since this will be the first bearing year, I cannot comment on the quality of the fruit until it matures.

Grapes
It is hard to judge the quality of the fruit as only one vine (five clusters) is bearing this year. I will saw the vines look great and are growing great this season.
