One of the most popular, best-tasting strawberries. This excellent variety will give you an abundance of large, jewel-like, dark red berries. Recommended Spacing

We recommend spacing these plants 12" apart to ensure room for growth.

Stark Bro's Store
It was given high ratings for size and quality in the Midwest Home Fruit Production Guide published by OSU Extension, plus is Disease resistant. The Mr Strawberry website reports it as also suitable for my new region in WV. Customers' very positive responses in your online catalog were also encouraging.

EarliGlo looks like an excellent choice for a June Bearing Strawberry. I want one row of June bearing and one row of ever bearing strawberries. Hopefully this will give me a great balance for an organic CSA which is our hopes for our future. This start of plants will give me a good basis to know what to add later. Thank you for the great descriptions and customer reviews to help with this decision.

Is this EarliGlo strawberry the same as the Earliglow strawberry [(Fairland x Midland) x (Redglow x Surecrop)]? The difference in spelling made me wonder if it is a different berry.
AJ S on Apr 2, 2016
BEST ANSWER: They appear to be the same ??? I'm not sure why there is a spelling discrepancy in the name!
I'm new at gardening but want to dedicate a 4' x 8' bed to strawberries. I'm looking at the EarliGlo variety for my zone (6b). How many plants will I need to fill that space?
Dawn D on Mar 1, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Since we recommend 1 foot of space between each plant, if you draw out your 4-foot by 8-foot bed, then you should be able to comfortably fit 21 plants into the space (leaving 1 foot on all sides). They fill in quickly once they get growing! Our bare-root strawberry plants come in packages of 25, so that would fill the garden bed with a few plants to spare.

EarliGlo Strawberry
I was a little dismayed when my EarliGlo strawberry plants arrived, since they looked like brown sticks. The plants quickly gained leaves and that first year gave a few small berries. The second year, the berries were much larger and plentiful. This year is the third year, and the patch is so thick with beautiful, large, great tasting berries I'm gathering two large bowlfuls per day at the peak. My first red berry was 6/1, and production is just now (6/21) slowing down. Thank you Stark for a great product!

earliglow strawberries
Earliglow strawberries were recommended to me by an orchardist in Elkins Ar. He said that they were the sweetest berries around.
I purchased 50 plants in 2015 and planted them in black plastic. The plants flowered and started to grow. The hardest part about growing strawberries is cutting the flowers off so that the growth energy of the plant goes into its root growth instead of its flower and berry growth, in the first year of growth. The plants grew great the first year, minus the flowers and berries. The black plastic also helped with weed control. I covered the plants up in winter 2015.
I uncovered the plants in March 2016, cleaned them up, cut off runners(about 30 which I gave to another gardener) and awaited the growing season. Started picking berries the last week of April 2016. I have currently picked about 32 cups of berries. Flash froze most of them. Ate about 6 cups.
They are very sweet. No sugar is needed. I would recommend this type of berry.

EarliGlo Strawberry
This review only covers the buying experience since I ordered my strawberries for fall planting and it is now only February. This was not my first order with Stark Bros. and it won't be my last- ordering trees soon- and I have had nothing but excellent service. Orders that are delayed due to season ship when they say they will and everything arrives in perfect condition. Though it's too early to say about the strawberries my Weeping Willows that I ordered last spring grew like weeds this past summer and are doing great!

Great Eating, Very Early
Our daughter bought us some for landscaping (white spring flower) - but the berries are so good we bought a bunch more, and we're selling them. They command a premium being so early. If you're shooting for pure poundage, you might try something else. If you want very early, great eating berries, I'd try these.

My Favorite!
Earliglo strawberries are the tastiest, in my opinion. They have been a long time favorite of mine. They are great for fresh eating and also for chopping and freezing. They generally do not have as heavy yields as some other varieties and probably not as large, but if you value taste and quality go for Earliglo!

Sweet, dark red berries of deliciousness
I planted these a year ago in the early spring of 2015, picking off flowers to ensure it only started fruiting year 2. This paid off big time. Just one order of the Earliglo (25 plants) has propogated and ive picked at least 8 quarts of strawberries this year so far. These babies are my pride and joy in the garden.
