CrimsonCrisp® Apple Tree
Description
About the CrimsonCrisp® Apple Tree
Bright, bold, and bursting with flavor, the CrimsonCrisp® Apple Tree delivers beautiful, deep red fruit with crisp, sweet-tart yellow flesh. Its satisfying crunch and subacid flavor make it a standout for fresh eating, with excellent keeping qualities — storing up to 4–6 months under proper conditions.
CrimsonCrisp® is a Co-op 39 cultivar introduced in 2004 through the Purdue-Rutgers-Illinois breeding program. A cross of disease-resistant parents, it was developed for home growers and orchardists seeking rich flavor paired with apple scab immunity.
With an upright habit, moderate vigor, and a rounded canopy, this tree offers reliable yields and attractive blooms — purple in bud, opening to white in spring.
How to Grow the CrimsonCrisp® Apple Tree
Plant in full sun with well-drained soil. Hardy in Zones 5–8. Water regularly and prune annually for shape and fruiting. While immune to apple scab, CrimsonCrisp® is moderately susceptible to powdery mildew and fire blight. A compatible pollinator is required — see recommended varieties below for best results.
Ripening in early to mid-September, CrimsonCrisp® combines beauty, crunch, and long-lasting flavor in one exceptional apple.
CrimsonCrisp® is offered under license from Adams County Nursery, Inc. Co-op 39 cultivar.
