Ginger Gold® Apple Tree
Description
Enjoy apples in summer! This early picker allows you to enjoy apples sooner than most varieties. Grow juicy and delicious apples that feature a yellow-green skin with a golden glow. A crisp crunch and mildly tart flavor – plus natural resistance to browning – makes the fruit perfect for fresh eating. Adds beauty to your landscape in spring, when it produces lovely white-pink blooms. Originates from Virginia in the 1960s. Heat-tolerant! Ripens mid- to late-August. Pollinator required: Choose another apple variety. See recommended pollinators below. Ginger Gold® is a registered trade name of Adams County Nursery, Inc.

what does this have to do with a ginger gold apple tree?
Yes another seedling or different variety is needed. One plant is both male and female but the pollen shed period may not match the female receptive period. Another different plant will provide a separate pollen period and may match the receptive period of the first plant.
Carolyn, I purchased my Ginger Gold last fall and planted it according to instructions, but I don't know if it is 'blight' resistant or not. I have been unable to find any claim to that effect, so I would assume that they are not blight resistant.
The shed should not make a difference as what caries pollination is wind, bees and birds.
The Ginger Gold® apple is a registered trademark because it is a commercially recognized variety that was developed and named with specific branding in mind. Here's why this happens:
Brand Protection:
By registering the name Ginger Gold® as a trademark, the developer or the rights holder (usually the original breeder or their company) can protect the name and prevent other growers or sellers from marketing a different apple under the same name. It ensures consistency and quality associated with that name.
Market Differentiation:
Even though Ginger Gold is widely grown now, using the ® symbol indicates that the name is protected and has a specific market identity. This is similar to other trademarked apple varieties like Honeycrisp® or Pink Lady®.
Not Necessarily a Patent:
A trademark is different from a plant patent. Plant patents expire (usually after 20 years), but trademarks can be maintained indefinitely as long as they are actively used and renewed.
Why It Matters:
While the tree itself can be propagated and sold by many nurseries (depending on any plant patent status), the trademarked name can only be used by those authorized to do so. Some nurseries may sell the same apple under a generic name if they don’t have the rights to the trademarked name.
The size depends on the option you choose from the drop down menu. Our trees will be 2 years of age unless noted pther wise.
Ginger Gold apples are not considered resistant to cedar-apple rust (CAR). While they have some natural tolerance to diseases like fire blight, they are susceptible to cedar-apple rust, especially if grown near cedar or juniper trees, which are alternate hosts for this fungal disease.
No I am sorry that is the largest size we offer as out trees are young 2 years of age.
We do ship to Canada but you would need to visit our Canada site as not everything we offer can ship to Canada. https://www.starkbros.ca/

Unlike apple trees I bought at a big box store, the two trees I purchased here are growing well. I plan to purchase more trees from Stark next year.
