Description

Historic favorite bright green apple! Whether fresh eating or cooking, the granny smith apple’s sweet and tart taste ranks it among the most popular apple trees. Perfect for pies, caramel apples, cider making, or low-calorie nutritious snacking. This medium to large size apple has a firm and crisp texture that has made it an apple lover’s favorite. Granny Smith apples are one of the best-storing apples and can be kept up to six months given the proper storage.

The Granny Smith apples ripen in late October. The trees are best suited for loamy, well-drained soils. This heat-tolerant apple tree originated circa 1868 in Australia. The granny smith apple tree thrives in full sun locations. Pollinator required: Choose another apple variety. See recommended pollinators below.

Good tree. This is fireblight susceptible, but can be usually managed by pruning out diseased branches. Yields are good of very large fruit.

Great Purchase and Healthy Trees
These trees came quickly and were healthy. I bought these at the beginning of Fall but I Used their recommendations on planting with the exception that I put these in temporary huge pots to get them growing. This will also allow me to bring them inside during extreme cold weather until they get larger and stronger and then I will permanently put them in the ground in spring.
Overall I am completely happy with this purchase.

Stark Bro's does it again!
As usual for a Stark Bro's purchase, my Granny Smith tree came as a small skinny stick. Fast forward to September and the tree grew 3+ feet and is doing beautifully. Other than watering the tree twice over the summer I didn't give it any special care.
