Roxbury Russet Apple Tree

Description

An apple with a flavor as rich as its history! Tree bears large, greenish-yellow fruit with a bronze blush. Russeting is not uncommon. Flesh is firm, yellow-white with unique, sweet flavor. Excellent for juice and cider as well as cooking and fresh-eating. Keeps for 6 months in proper storage. Antique variety, originates from Massachusetts, circa 17th century. Thought to be one of the first settler-grown North American apple varieties. Cold-hardy. Ripens in mid-October. Best pollinators: any Golden Delicious or Stark® Jon-A-Red® Jonathan.

Note: Triploid; cannot pollinate other apple trees.
